Greetings from the FACP Chairman

Dear FACP members and visitors,

Greetings from the chair and welcome to the new FACP website!

First of all, I am honored to be elected new Chairman of FACP for the year 2019 - 2021, and I look forward to work with the new Executive Committee, the Board of Governors, all members, and associates.

I’d like to record my appreciation to Chairman Mr. Masami Shigeta, whose guidance and advice I received with the utmost gratitude. Under Mr. Shigeta’s leadership and direction from 2013 - 2019, the profile of FACP has significantly increased internationally with associate members from different parts of the world and I hope to be able to continue his exemplary tenureship as Chairman.

I would also like to welcome the new Executive Committee and the Board of Governors and I hope we can continue to work together in forging strong networking to facilitate arts and cultural exchange efforts between all FACP members and expanding our reach.

As you are aware, this year has been a challenging period for arts and cultural practitioners, promoters, managers, artists, and everyone else involved in the sector. At this time, the Covid-19 pandemic remains ongoing without a clear end in sight. We are facing a crisis as shows, concerts, events, and other arts and cultural activities are canceled, or undergoing major obstacles such as crowd/proximity restrictions, continuing travel restrictions, prohibitive flight and other costs, economic turndown, and other financial and logical issues. That said, it is my wish that this organization will be able to step up further and play a major part in assisting all members to navigate through these uncharted waters by strengthening cooperation and partnerships between members, exploring new ways to present arts and culture, and overcome this hurdle as a collective.

Thank you and I hope to see you all in the upcoming 38th Annual Conference, held for the first time virtually, very soon!

Chairman, FACP
