About Beyond the Shore

Beyond the Shore is an ongoing oceanic artistic research project that delves into the

realm of sea myths and legends, livelihoods from ancient times, and speculative futures. Focusing on Inter-Asian maritime histories and feminist mythologies, this project connects people from in-land to sea civilisations through research, public sharing, and performances, and invites alternative modes of thinking from a land-based to a sea-based perspective. The work also works from a relational approach between various cultures across geographical locations.

This project aims for an interactive exhibition with speculative fiction, ai-generated

images, moving image mapping, knot art, and live dance performances which connect mythological sea stories. It intertwines digital and physical art and a live performance connecting the sense of time. Through this immersive exhibition, the audience is invited to re-imagine their relationship to East Asian ocean myths, folklores, and histories, and discover traces of sea civilisations from prehistoric times to their speculative futures.

This piece offers a thoughtful look at priorities and how we choose to spend our limited time, especially when balancing passion and purpose. Reflective writing like this benefits from clear structure and expression. I’ve seen conversations around affordable journal publication editing, with Academic Editors mentioned as a resource for refining academic insights without losing voice.

I really appreciated this piece on Alysa Leung’s If Time’s Limited. The way you explore perspective and presence makes it feel like a quiet conversation with someone who’s actually thought deeply about what matters. I was reading it during a packed study week, and honestly, there were moments I jokingly wished someone could do my online calculus class just to have a little more space to truly absorb posts like this.

This initiative appears intriguing, particularly in its integration of myth, history, and performance to reinterpret maritime viewpoints. The inclusion of AI and live art enhances the engagement factor significantly. It brings to mind how individuals frequently look for inventive methods in surprising places much like students buy an assignment to investigate new concepts in a different way.
